MIAMI, FLA. According to the family attorney for Brian Landry, he tragically shot himself in the head.
Investigators have been looking for proof of Landry’s girlfriend Gabby Petito’s death during their cross-country van trip for more than a month.
Laundry’s parents were notified that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and that the death was a suicide, according to attorney Steve Bertolino in a statement.
According to Bertolino, “Chris and Roberta still grieve the loss of their son and hope that these revelations will offer peace to both families.”
Dental records were used last month to identify Landry’s remains, which were discovered at the Florida Wildlife Sanctuary.
Two weeks after Laundry, 23, returned alone to his parents’ house in North Port, Florida, he vanished on September 14; the 23-year-disappearance old’s sparked a large federal, state, and local law enforcement search that ended with the recovery of the remains.
The inquiry into Petito’s murder is still ongoing, nevertheless. However, Landry was the only person recognised by law enforcement as being involved in this case.
